PROPOSALS FOR IRAM TELESCOPES
Winter 2011/2012 Ratings
The IRAM program committee convened in Grenoble on October 24 and 25 to evaluate the proposals submitted for the winter 2011/2012 scheduling period. The discussions were organized in 2 panels which were chaired by Santiago Garcia-Burillo (OAN, Madrid) and Henrik Beuther (MPIA, Heidelberg). The principal investigators of each proposal will be informed by letter which will include comments issued by the committee if there are any. As usual, the proposals were classified A (accepted), B (backup), and C (rejected).
For
proposals rated A or B which do not have an IRAM internal collaborator,
please consult the list of local
contacts.
The accepted proposals are listed here.

We received 130 proposals for the 30m telescope. This number includes proposals which were submitted in the Large Program catagory and further proposals for short spacing observations. Together, the new proposals amount to a total of 4560 hours of telescope time, of which slightly more than 60% goes to extragalactic proposals.
The highest rating "A" was given to 35 proposals, and 67 proposals were rated "B", i.e. were given backup status. The remaining proposals, although scientifically valuable in most cases, were rated "C". The individual ratings are listed in the table below. All A-rated proposals will be scheduled on the telescope, although some with less time than requested. We expect that about half of the B-rated programs will actually be scheduled. The selection will take into account scientific merit, crowding in certain right ascension ranges, and general aspects of balance. Proposals rated "C" will not get telescope time.
The accepted proposals are listed here. The short spacing proposals will be scheduled on the 30m if they get observed at Bure.
