remote
observing under the New Control System is now possible
again. Stations in the IRAM Granada and Grenoble offices and at the
MPIfR in Bonn are operational. More stations are being prepared. Contact the Astronomer on Duty
(Granada), Pierre Hily-Blant (hilyblan@iram.fr) for Grenoble, or Dirk

HERA, the 1.3mm heterodyne receiver array.
An updated
user manual (version 2.0) is available.
-
VESPA (Versatile Spectral and Polarimetric Array) is the new,
greatly expanded correlator backend.
Up to 18000 spectral channels in many configurations and user modes are
available.
See the
summary
published in the IRAM Newsletter No. 54 and the preliminary
user manual.
A configurations demonstration routine, written by Gabriel Paubert in python
and running
in
a unix/linux environment, can be downloaded from here.

Extended frequency range:
Receivers A100 and B100 (nominal tuning range: 80 - 115.5 GHz) can now be
used down to 72 GHz under certain restrictions and caveats.
A test report is available here
together with a selection of spectra.
