Note: run 4 tested the new and definitive optics and position of the NIKA prototype; this is the 3rd version of the prototype optics (1st version was for run 1, the 2nd version for runs 2 and 3); the grid distortion predicted with Zemax is described in a dedicated document.

13- 2012 February 8. NIKA run 3 outcome meeting at IRAM Grenoble:

Status of NIKA run 3 offline processing (F-X. Désert): ppt.
More details are available on the dedicated data processing wiki page.

12- 2012 January 15. NIKA prototype final permanent installation:

Up to run 3 NIKA was installed on the MAMBO optical bench, which presented several disvantages, in particular the necessity to dismount NIKA after each run. I've studied a new optical setup allowing the installtion at a new position offering several advantages, namelly: (1) better use of the space available in the "bolometer area" of the 30m telescope receiver cabin, now 2 prototypes (NIKA and GISMO) can be installed simultaneously whereas previously only one instrument could be installed; (2) no need to dismount any instrument to do observations with one of the prototypes, so the installations can now be permament ; (3) reduction of losses on the optical path thanks to a better use of mirrors, both prototypes have 2 mirrors less than in the previous configuration. The new optics and permatent position will be implemented for the run 4.
Quick description of the new optical setup using Zemax snapshots: pdf, ppt.
NEW (09/2013) more snapshot from Zemax and explanations of the optical setup of NIKA at its final permanent position: ppt.
