ObserveWithAlma: point 5: yes, the Observer may update the
program at any time, not just after a break point (but may be
modifying an executing OB is too much)
CreateObservingProgramme:
Fixed deadline/continuous submission policy is still
TBD
Issues 2: yes we guarantee minimal quality
Notes 3: Ph2 validation should also check that the set
of parameters is reasonable (not only that each one is
independently valid)
CreateP1Proposal:
Basic Course, 11: local saving is not optional (see
introduction)
Basic Course, 6: Coordinates not required at Phase 1
for large surveys, only selection criteria.
Basic Course, 9: List should be built automatically
(like e-mail attachment mechanism).
ValidateP1Proposal:
Basic Course, 2: Observing a previously observed
source/frequency, but with extended goals (S/N) should be
formally allowed.
The validation should give warnings and not stop at the
first error, but find all problems.
SubmitP1Proposal:
PostConditions 2: Give confirmation number (Password
to allow for future changes ?)
What about hardware that will not be available for some
time? How early should submission be allowed in any case ?
To what extent are the proposal public before
observation? Is the scientific justification public after
observation (the header data is public).
ReviewP1Proposal:
Science and Technical reviewers could well be
different people.
CreateObservingBlocks:
BasicCourse 4.7: Reduction Scripts and requirements are
quite important to be mentioned.
BasicCourse 7: Also more generally e.g. scheduling
periodicities, ...
Avoid as much as possible human checking after Ph2.
RetrieveArchivedData:
Yes we allow pipeline data reduction from the Archive,
but obviously with a resource limit.
This list is by no means complete; written comments by committee
members are called in for September 1st.
Status of detailed requirements: my list is approaching
completion, and will be posted in a few days. Comments will be
required.
Work to be done:
We need to draft Use Cases for the other observing modes on
the model of the Single Field Interferometry one. I propose that
we start by the actual observing modes (several people in the
Science Group are working on calibration strategies, so for the
calibration details we may wait a little). I'll issue a call for
volunteers.
Next phone meeting / Date of face to face meeting.
Phone meeting should be on September 22, 15hUT
Face to face meeting is fixed on October 12/13 in
Berkeley. Mel Wright is in charge of the local organisation.
