A full description of the polarimeter including some of the first results is published in the proceedings of the SPIE conference 2002.
An advanced, all digital spectropolarimeter, XPOL, has been developed
recently. It makes use of the upgraded digital correlator VESPA which can
make auto- as well as cross-correlations. A technical paper has
been published in PASP and is available here as a
postscript file.
A separate note describes in detail the calibration of the sign of
Stokes V with XPOL.
In this configuration XPOL was used to map the Crab Nebula. Special care was taken for an accurate calibration of the polarization angle in order to support the calibration of the HFI instrument on board the PLANCK satellite. The observations are published by (Aumont et al.).
Following the installation of the new receiver EMIR in April 2009, we have investigated the performance of XPOL. The changes with respect to the previous generation of receivers in described in a detailed report. This report includes observing procedures.
