UV_AVERAGE 

        Averages  velocity  channels  of  a   UV   data   set to  produce  a
    pseudo continuum (single-channel)  output  UV table. To  smooth  the  UV
    data  but  still get several output channels, use UV_COMPRESS or UV_HAN-
    NING.
