Find here documents related to the preparation of proposals, documents mostly relevant to the operation of the interferometer (of interest for astronomers with special observing), and other documents. We refer to GILDAS for the main documentation related to the calibration and reduction of data obtained with the PdBI. GILDAS, the Grenoble Image and Line Data Analysis Software, is a joint effort of IRAM and the Observatoire de Grenoble.

Proposal preparation:
  • An Introduction to the IRAM interferometer is a description of the IRAM Plateau de Bure interferometer. This is a must for the astronomers preparing observing proposals. It has been updated and includes a description of the New Generation Receiver System. Most recent information can also be found here.
  • The Correlator Manual, describes the possibilities of the correlator.
  • Frequency Setup, contains an accurate description of the frequency plan of the IRAM interferometer. This is useful when double sideband observations of narrow lines have to be planned.
  • The ASTRO Manual, ASTRO, A Software To pRepare Observations, is a simple astronomical package to plot source visibilities, compute observing frequency setup, find phase calibrators, etc...
Array operation:
  • The CLIC Manual, CLIC, Continuum and Line Interferometer Calibration, is the calibration software for data of the Plateau de Bure array.
  • Amplitude Calibration, describes the primary amplitude calibration: atmospheric calibration receiver and telescope dependent parameters. This document also applies for the 30-m calibration.
  • Flux measurements, details the observing techniques for flux density measurements.
  • Interferometer Observer's Manual, a complete observing manual for the interferometer.
  • Pointing User's Guide, details the methods for pointing measurements and describes the POINT program.
  • Trouble Shooting Guide, contains a (non-exhaustive) list of potential problems, with their causes and a description of diagnostic tools.
Data calibration:
  • Calibration CookBook, a supplement to the CLIC manual, contains simple receipes to calibrate interferometer data.
  • Tools, a manual for the management of project accounts.
