2009/??/?? - Extract from an Excel sheet in which I fit the ATM atmospheric opacity model with a much simplier empirical model, valid in 4% margins at 100kHz resolution from 50 to 500 GHz, a pseudo-continuum base line, 7 polynomial H2O and O2 kinetic lines, and 4 empirical gaussians adjusting packets of lines. With less than 50 parameters this can easily be included in stand-alone calculation sheets without using a third-party application.

2009/09/11 - Documents replying D.Benford and J.Staguhn reports about GISMO run 2 at the 30m telescope (see the GISMO page for their repport; some points still need to be clarified, but other priorities prevented to finish the discussion up to now):
+ Short summary of my replies to D.Benford and J.Staguhn reports (pdf),
+ GISMO and background limited sensitivities at 2mm wavelength at the 30m telescope (reply to D.Benford "Atmospheric Emission at Pico Veleta", pdf),
+ Questions and feedbacks about GISMO run 2 (reply to J.Staguhn "Report on GISMO run #2", pdf).

2010/05 - Presentation for the 2010 SAC meeting reporting the results of the NIKA 1st run and GISMO 3rd run at the 30m telescope, including reminders on these prototypes and the framework of the future bolometer project: pdf & ppt.

2010/08/03 - Updated specifications for a background limited continuum instrument in each of the 4 atmospheric windows available at the 30m telescope: htm, pdf, xls
These updated specifications are the output of an Excel spreadsheet including calculations of the background NET and NEFD assuming some hypothesis about the atmosphere and the instrument. The calculations are approximations with only small errors compared to the formally exact integral forms. The spreadsheet includes a model of the atmosphere opacity based on fits to the ATM model, and it allows to play on 16 adjustable parameters (wavelength, pixel size, transmition factors, bandwidth, polarization, observing mode, atmosphere humidity,...) hence covering most of the possibilities for the instrument definition. Thus this document is at the same time the most complete and compact, though readable form I issued for the specification of an optimal continuum instrument at the 30m telescope.
